There’s something instantly infectious about Toro Toro. Maybe it’s the bright, carefree energy that fills the space, or the riverside setting that feels effortlessly Goan. The moment you walk in, you know this place isn’t trying too hard, it’s just having a good time, and it wants you to join in. Created by Chef Rohan D’Souza (the mind behind The Lazy Goose), Toro Toro brings a more playful, experimental side to Goan dining, with bold dishes, easygoing vibes, and an unmistakable charm. Big shoutout to Vishal, who manages both spots and was the reason we ended up here and what a great call that was.
A showstopper right from the start. These baked crab meat balls, served inside their shells, were beautifully seasoned and bursting with flavour. The combination of the spicy thousand island dressing and roasted garlic gave the dish a rich, layered punch. A brilliant mix of texture, aroma, and taste, easily the highlight of the meal.
Juicy, well-grilled prawns tossed in stewed garlic, herbs, olive oil, and a touch of wine - simplicity done right. The prawns were cooked perfectly, maintaining that sweet, delicate flavour of the seafood. Add in the clean, elegant plating, and it’s a dish that feels both coastal and refined.
A carnivore’s dream on a plate - ham, bacon, chorizo, onions, roasted pimento cheese, and jalapeños all layered on a thin crust that stayed crisp till the last slice. This one disappeared almost instantly once it hit the table.
Rich, fiery, and full of depth, this Goan-style sorpotel was as traditional as it gets. The aroma alone could make you hungry. We ended up ordering extra bread slathered with butter to scoop up every last bit of the gravy. A comforting, nostalgic dish that deserves a definite spot on your order list.
Pure indulgence to close things off. Crack into that soft outer shell and watch the molten chocolate spill out - it’s one of those desserts that never fails to make you smile. Paired with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, it was the perfect finale to our meal.
Toro Toro captures the spirit of Goa in the best way possible, a little quirky, a little bold, and absolutely full of life. It’s where comfort meets creativity, and where every dish feels like a reflection of Chef Rohan’s playful culinary style. From the lively ambience to the warm service and a menu that celebrates big, fearless flavours, this spot stands out as one of Goa’s most enjoyable dining experiences. Whether you’re here for a long lunch by the water or a fun evening with friends, Toro Toro will leave you smiling and probably planning your next visit before you’ve even left.
